Jamie Oliver 3-Ingredient Bread Recipe

Jamie Oliver 3-Ingredient Bread

This 3-ingredient bread is a no-fuss recipe that uses only pantry staples to create a delicious loaf. The simplicity of the ingredients makes it versatile for pairing with any meal or enjoying as a snack.

Ingredients

  • Plain flour: 500g (4 cups).
  • Water: 300ml (1¼ cups), lukewarm.
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon.

Optional Add-ins:

  • Seeds (e.g., sunflower, sesame, or flax).
  • Dried herbs (e.g., rosemary or thyme).
  • Cracked black pepper or garlic powder for flavor.

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking tray or loaf tin with parchment paper.

Step 2: Combine the ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add the lukewarm water, stirring with a wooden spoon until the dough starts to come together.

Step 3: Knead the dough

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. If the dough is sticky, sprinkle a little extra flour as needed.

Step 4: Shape the dough

Shape the dough into a round or place it into a loaf tin. Make shallow slashes on top with a sharp knife to allow for expansion.

Step 5: Bake the bread

Place the bread in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown. The bread is ready when it sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

Step 6: Cool and serve

Allow the bread to cool on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
